Service Description

Lovingkindness meditation (also known in the Buddhist tradition as mettā) is a simple, powerful technique to cultivate kindness, compassion, and goodwill. In this class with experienced teacher Kimberly Brown, you’ll learn how to cultivate a mindful and caring relationship with yourself, your friends and family, your community, and the world. Many of us are generous and patient with other people, yet judgmental and harsh with ourselves. Lovingkindness meditation will help you soften self-criticism and develop a wise and steady mind in all circumstances, while creating a deeper sense of connection and belonging with others too. Each week, you’ll learn about the path of lovingkindness through guided meditation, discussion, reflection, and sharing. This class is appropriate for beginners and experienced meditators too.. No prior meditation experience is required. All are welcome. Teacher Bio: Kimberly Brown is a popular meditation teacher and author. For nearly two decades she’s led classes and retreats to emphasize the power of compassion and kindness meditation to reconnect us to ourselves and others. She studies in both the Tibetan and Insight schools of Buddhism and is a Certified Mindfulness Instructor (CMT-P). Her latest book, Happy Relationships: 25 Buddhist Practices to Transform Your Connection with Your Partner, Family, and Friends, was recently released by Prometheus Books.
